I accepted a partial refund but the seller still hasn’t sent the rest of my order — can I open a new claim?

Partial Refund Pressure

Maybe — but it depends on whether the partial refund was only for the missing part of the order, or whether you accepted it as a final settlement for the whole case. If the remaining items were never delivered, a new claim may still be possible, but the marketplace may block it if the original dispute was closed as resolved.

First, check the exact wording on the order and dispute pages. Look for phrases such as:

  • “case closed”
  • “resolved”
  • “final settlement”
  • “accepted refund”
  • “order completed”

Those words matter because they show whether the platform treats the partial refund as the end of the dispute. Also check whether the order was split into separate shipments or whether the missing items were always part of one order. That changes whether you are dealing with one unresolved order or a settled case plus a separate delivery problem.

Then collect the details that prove the rest is still missing:

  • the order number
  • the message or claim record showing what the partial refund was for
  • tracking information for the remaining items, if any
  • screenshots or messages showing the seller still owes part of the order or promised a later shipment

If the seller said they would send the rest later, reply and ask for:

  • the shipping date
  • a tracking number
  • confirmation of which items are still outstanding

That gives you a record showing the missing items were not part of the refunded part.

If the marketplace still allows disputes on the order, open a new claim for the undelivered items only. Make it clear that:

  • you already accepted a partial refund
  • the new claim is only for the items that have not arrived
  • the issue is not the refunded portion, but the remaining part of the order

If the platform says the case is closed, ask support whether it can be reopened or appealed for the undelivered items. Include the original claim number and ask them to confirm whether the partial refund was treated as a full settlement or only as compensation for part of the order.

If the marketplace route is no longer available, the next step may depend on your payment method and how long ago you paid. A bank or card-provider process can have different deadlines from the marketplace’s own claim system, so check your card statement and your provider’s dispute window before relying on that route.

Practical tip: save one screenshot showing the partial refund and one showing the missing items, so you can prove the refund did not cover the whole order.
